The Woodpile (A Photoshoot)

Hey guys! I FINALLY figured out how to host images for a WordPress site so I no longer have to worry about story space in WordPress! This means more posts with a lot more pictures.

So yesterday I took a bunch of pics with Grace and Molly on the stairs that go to our deck, but they all turned out horribly (there was wayyyyyyy too much sun), so I redid them in a different location with Grace and Lindsey. Enjoy!

Again, there’s been way too much light recently (okay, not way too much, but way too much for good pictures), so I had to use our wheelbarrow to help cast some shadow over the dolls’ faces.

And BTW, I think I’ll be posting once a week on AGIA and once a week on SSASS (my personal blog, for those of you who didn’t get the memo).

Check out this week’s SSASS post here.

Have a great week!

Fifteen (A Lyrical Photoshoot)

Psst! Hey, you! Yes, you, person reading this post in your supposedly awful reader that I actually find very helpful but most people do not. In case you did not get the memo, today is Crystal’s fifteenth birthday. Yes, fifteen. Shocking, right?

I have been planning to do a photoshoot to the song “Fifteen” by none other than Taylor Swift. I am not really a fan of her anymore, I think her songs are getting a bit too edgy. But her old music is great! And “Fifteen” is a very sweet song. I’ll let Crystal’s adorableness take it from here. 🙂

You take a deep breath
And you walk through the doors
It’s the morning of your very first day
You say hi to your friends you ain’t seen in awhile
Try and stay out of everybody’s way

DSC_0332

It’s your freshman year
And you’re gonna be here for the next four years
In this town
Hoping one of those senior boys
Will wink at you and say, “you know I haven’t seen you around, before”

DSC_0333

‘Cause when you’re fifteen,
Somebody tells you they love you
You’re gonna believe them
And when you’re fifteen

DSC_0334

Feeling like there’s nothing to figure out
DSC_0363

Count to ten
Take it in
This is life before you know who you’re gonna be
At fifteen

DSC_0336

You sit in class next to a red-head named Abigail
And soon enough you’re best friends
Laughing at the other girls
Who they think they’re so cool
We’ll be out of here as soon as we can

DSC_0338

And then you’re on your very first date
And he’s got a car
And you’re feeling like flying
And you’re mama’s waiting up
And you’re thinking he’s the one
And you’re dancing around the room when the night ends
When the night ends

DSC_0343

‘Cause when you’re fifteen,
Somebody tells you they love you
You’re gonna believe them
And when you’re fifteen

DSC_0345

And your first kiss makes your head spin around

DSC_0349

But in your life you’ll do things
Greater than dating the boy on the football team
But I didn’t know it at fifteen

DSC_0346

When all you wanted
Was to be wanted
Wish you could go back
And tell yourself what you know now

DSC_0351

Back then I swore I was gonna marry him someday
But I realized some bigger dreams of mine
And Abigail gave everything she had
To a boy who changed his mind
And we both cried

DSC_0353

‘Cause when you’re fifteen,
Somebody tells you they love you
You’re gonna believe them
And when you’re fifteen

DSC_0356

Don’t forget to look before you fall

I’ve found time can heal most anything
And you just might find who you’re supposed to be
I didn’t know who I was supposed to be
At fifteen

La la la la la
Your very first day
Take a deep breath girl
And take a deep breath as you walk through the doors

Hiiii, fellow travelers! It’s Grace again, with our last post from Texas! A big thank-you goes out to AGs in Alaska’s Texan friend, who helped her take some of these pics. Now, onto the photostory!

Grace, the fearless adventurer, has succeeded in her mission

And so another journey ends, my friends. We have returned to Alaska. I hope you have all enjoyed “traveling” with me, Grace – the fearless adventurer.

Grace

Travels With Grace #1: Texas

Hola, y’all! Grace here! See how I combined a Spanish word and a southern phrase into one sentence? I’m so cool!

Scratch that. I’m actually really, really hot right now.

Why?

We are in Texas!

As you hopefully already got from the title of this post.

I got such an overwhelming amount of enthusiasm from my last Travels With Grace series, in which I went to Washington State, that I decided to do the exact same thing for Texas!

Instead of staying in one town, AGs in Alaska and I will be traveling to several parts of the state. We just got into Dallas today after a total of eight hours in a plane. (AGs in Alaska hasn’t slept since the day before yesterday, but she’s wide awake. It’s beyond me.) I’m going to keep the other cities a surprise for now, but until then, you can view my adorableness in these epic pictures AGs in Alaska took!

Aquí!

So, those photos were taken in the backyard of the house we’re staying in. I hope y’all liked them!

One more quick announcement about this series: unlike last time, where I was in all of the photoshoots/stories, I am going to be more like a tour guide this time, and post lots of pictures of what we do. There will be more photoshoots of me, I promise, but also lots of pictures of the cool stuff we go do.

Bye for now!

Grace

From AGs in Alaska: I sincerely apologize for the no posting on Monday, I was super busy getting ready for vacation!

He Is Risen (A Photostory)

“Good morning, church family,” Grace says. “Happy Easter! We are gathered here today, instead of going to an actual brick-and-mortar building, due to an inconvenient cold that has afflicted two of our sisters.”

“That would be us,” Linsey says.

“We’re going to start off by signing “Amazing Grace.” Will you please all stand and join us?”

We all stand and clear our throats.

“Amazing grace, how sweet the sound. That saved a wretch like me. I once was lost, but now am found. Was blind but now I see.”

“And now we would like to welcome Morgan to the stage. She is going to be our “pastor” for the day,” Grace announces at the end of the song.

“Thank you, Grace,” Morgan says, standing up. “Thank you all for joining me today. As Grace mentioned before, we are gathered here instead of at our usual church. It is allergy season, after all.”

“Thanks, Morgan,” Lindsey says.

“I have a very special message for all of you today,” Morgan tells us. “Did you know that on this day, long ago, Jesus rose from the dead?”

“Yep, that’s right. He defeated the grave! Death couldn’t hold God’s only son down.”

“On Good Friday, Jesus died. His followers were heartbroken. But, by the power of the Holy Spirit, Jesus rose three days later.”

“That’s why we celebrate Easter every year! While the bunnies and Easter egg hunts are fun, the real reason for our happiness is Jesus’ resurrection.”

“The most amazing this is that, if you are a Christian, the same power that raised Jesus from the dead lives inside of YOU. Will you pray with me?”

“Dear Lord, we want to thank You for Your grace and compassion, that you sent your only son to die in our places. While we deserved punishment, You took mercy on us and sent Jesus as a sacrifice. We are so thankful for what you did. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.”

“He is risen!”

“He is risen indeed!”

“Happy Easter from the AGIA family!!!”

-End of photostory-

Happy Easter, everyone! I hope you enjoyed that photostory. Do you believe that Jesus is alive today, and will forever be alive? I do, and I hope you do too!

Here is a bonus picture to make you smile:

Trying to carry all my dolls downstairs . . .

Amazing Grace

Amazing Grace

Hey, guys. I know it’s Friday and not one of my usual posting days, but I have an important message I want to share with all of you.

Did you know that today is Good Friday? Or, more importantly, do you know what Good Friday means?

A looooooooooooong time ago, on this day, Jesus died. He died for you, and He died for me. For all of us.

The great thing about this gift if that no matter what you have ever done, and no matter what you will ever do, Jesus loves you anyway! You need His gift of forgiveness.

The most amazing this is that this gift is totally free. It’s like when someone gives you a present on your birthday. They aren’t expecting anything in return. This gift is like that, too. Jesus doesn’t expect you to give Him a bunch of things in return – all He asks is that you ask Him for forgiveness (accepting His gift) and admit that you believe He is the Son of God. It’s that simple!

So today, take a minute to pause and thank Jesus for His gift. Put aside your blogging, text conversations, and even your schoolwork. Just for a minute. Thank Jesus for dying for you!

Because what better gift could there be?

I hope all of have an amazing Easter/Resurrection Sunday!

Love,

AGs in Alaska
