The Custom Doll Tag!

Hey, everybody! Are y’all excited for Easter? I know I am! Plus, the next day I will release the very last part of The Trials of Tessa, so . . . yippee!

In the meantime, Jenna from An AG Life tagged me for her new tag, The Custom Doll Tag. Thank you so much, Jenna!

20180329_200315_00012

This is such a fun tag! Here are Jenna’s rules:

1. Thank the person that tagged you.

2. Give a description and photos of your dream doll. Such as name, hair, eye color, and etc.

3. Tag 3 new people to do this tag.

Lets get started! My dream doll:

Description: My dream doll would have the Mermaid Song wig from Beautifully Custom, as shown in the picture below. I would like her to have green eyes as well. Or maybe blue, but I do have a lot of blue-eyed dolls already. Maybe Mia’s face?

Interests: I feel like she would be into horses . . . or just animals in general, like Morgan.

Name: I think Bree . . . but that could change. I was going to call Tessa Bree at first.

So, what do you guys think of my dream custom. I kind of already have mine (Tessa), but this would be another. I have another dream custom idea in my mind as well . . . maybe later? I don’t think I’ll ever buy a new AG doll, just customize them!

I tag:

Madi (I know you won’t do this for a while)

Sam

Hope

If you guys can’t do it, it’s fine! Just let me know in the comments. See y’all on Sunday for my Easter photostory!

The Customization of Tessa Elizabeth

Hello, everyone! I want to give a HUGE thank-you to everyone who took my poll. It is super helpful for me to know what YOU GUYS want to see. And, according to what you told me, y’all want more photostories/photoshoots and Day in The Life!

Happy to oblige.

Also, I know what you’re thinking – when exactly is Tessa going to make an appearance on your blog?

Let me explain – when I got Tessa, I knew that I would have to do Travels With Grace and catch up on stuff like Day in The Life before I could let her star on my blog. I am really, really excited for today’s post – the customization of Tessa Elizabeth!!!

I did a VERY INCOMPLETE customization photo process, but I was so excited about getting Tessa and customizing her that I didn’t really do a very good job of taking photos along the way. But what I have is here. 🙂

Now, right before we move on to something much more exciting than announcements and stuff, I want to give a big shoutout to Elysium (formerly known as Avaroo2003 from Ava’s Pokémon Blog), who started an epic new blog you can check out right here. It’s called An Author’s Odyssey, and Elysium posts these super amazing writing prompts that you guys can use. I have started to do it, and it is A TON of fun. I strongly encourage you guys to go check it out, follow, and participate!

Now, onto the Customization of Tessa Elizabeth!!!!

(Note: There may or may not be photos of disembodied dolls. Proceed with caution.)

So . . . our story starts off with a box.

A box I cannot show you a picture of because I stupidly did not cover up our address with a card and you can now see where we live and I’m too lazy to install the Flash plugin so I can edit the picture because I am a very mysterious person.

Ths is what the box looked liked after I opened it.

(Best. Photo description. Ever.)

AHHHHHHHHHH IT’S A HEAD!!!!!!!!!

This is Tessa’s hair . . . pre-customization.

DSC_0376

Hope I’m not freaking y’all out with this! If you’re not already disgusted . . . funny story!

So we (my mom and I) have a doll head and a doll body. Why not have a little fun?

My mom as my dad is pulling out of the driveway: Holds doll body up to window, makes arm wave.

My dad pulling out of the driveaway: Does not notice.

Me: Laughing hysterically.

IMG_0077

In case you couldn’t tell, this photo has been majorly cropped so you can’t see all of the baby photos on our back wall.

But now you know that my hair is brown! Big clue as to finding out my true identity. Hey, you have now eliminated half the world population!

La head.

The two wigs, side by side!

Before gluing it on . . . BTW, how do you spell gluing? Is it glueing?

I will save you the stunningly gorgeous picture of Tessa as she has pins sticking out of her head as the wig’s glue dries. Instead . . . the finished product!!!

Tessa Elizabeth, my very first custom!

I hope you guys enjoyed that little Behind The Scenes view into my messy house process of creating a custom doll. I will see you all on Wednesday for my Valetine’s Day post!

“Oh, a music book!”

DSC_0566

“Thank you, everybody.”

DSC_0567

“Hey, Crystal, here’s yours,” Molly tells Crystal, holding up her present.

DSC_0569

“Oh, for me?” Crystal asks. “Thank you.”

DSC_0570

“Eek! A fairy costume! Hold on, let me go put it on!” Crystal shrieks.

She returns a few minutes later wearing the glitzy costume.

DSC_0573

“McKenna, this one is yours,” Lindsey says.

DSC_0574

McKenna opens the box excitedly. “A FITBIT!!!!”

DSC_0575

“It fits perfectly!” McKenna exclaims. “You guys are da best!”

DSC_0576

“Here, Molly,” Grace says, holding up an owl bag. “I think this one is yours.”

DSC_0577

Molly pulls out the tissue paper, practically smothering herself.

DSC_0578

“SAT Secrets! It’s just what I wanted!” Molly exclaims. “Thank you so much!”

DSC_0579

Lindsey snorts ungracefully.

DSC_0580

Emily elbows her. “Lindsey.”

All of a sudden, the doorbell rings.

DSC_0581

“Hey, who’s going to get that?” McKenna asks. “We’re all in our pajamas.”

DSC_0582

“I’ll get it,” Crystal answers. “I’m the only one not in my PJs.”

DSC_0583

“Um, Crystal, maybe you shouldn’t-”

DSC_0586

Crystal ingores her and jets up the stairs in her fairy costume.

DSC_0587

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”

DSC_0588

“Oh, my apologies,” Crystal says, sliding her fairy mask on top of her head.

DSC_0589

“Is this the American Girls in Alaska family?” the girl asks in a Southern accent.

DSC_0590

Crystal nods. “Yes, it is. I’m Crystal.”

DSC_0591

“Hey, who’s this?” Grace asks, bounding up the stairs.

DSC_0592

“I have no idea,” Crystal replies.

DSC_0594

“I’m Tessa,” the girl says in a Southern accent.

DSC_0595

“Hey, I’m Grace,” Grace introduces herself.

DSC_0597

Molly suddenly appears out of nowhere. “Hello. I’m Molly. Sorry we’re all in our pajamas.”

DSC_0598

“It’s fine,” Tessa says. “It’s nice to meet you.”

DSC_0599

“Hey, who’re you?” Lindsey asks rudely.

DSC_0600

“Lindsey, be nice,” Morgan chides, appearing behind Lindsey. “Hi, I’m Morgan, and this is Lindsey.”

DSC_0601

“Are you our new sister?” McKenna asks. “Hi, I’m McKenna.”

DSC_0603

“And this is Emily,” Morgan says, prodding Emily forward.

DSC_0605

“Why don’t you come downstairs?” Crystal asks Tessa.

DSC_0594

“Alright,” Tessa agrees.

DSC_0584

Back downstairs, Morgan says, “We’re so sorry, Tessa. We don’t have a present for you.”

DSC_0585

“Yes, you do,” Tessa tells her. “You’re my new family. And that’s the best thing I could ask for.”
